¿Por qué no puedo abrir archivos DMG que residen en un sistema de archivos NFS de solo lectura?

He descubierto un problema extraño ... si tengo archivos de imagen de disco (DMG) que residen en un recurso compartido NFS de solo lectura, no puedo abrirlos en Mac OS X 10.7.5. Los mismos archivos se abren bien cuando se accede a través de AFP. Sin embargo, tratar de abrirlos usando hdiutil attachcuando están en el recurso compartido NFS da como resultado "error al adjuntar - sistema de archivos de solo lectura":

Incluso si el recurso compartido AFP es de solo lectura, puedo adjuntar esas mismas imágenes. Pero por alguna razón, un recurso compartido de NFS de solo lectura no funciona.

En última instancia, lo que quiero hacer es adjuntar las imágenes con un archivo de sombra , para montar las imágenes de solo lectura como lectura-escritura. Pero esto también falla de la misma manera:

Nuevamente, esto funciona perfectamente si la imagen se sirve a través de AFP. También funciona bien si el recurso compartido NFS es de lectura-escritura, pero por razones de seguridad no puedo hacer eso.

¿Cómo puedo montar archivos DMG que residen en un recurso compartido NFS de solo lectura?

No tengo un recurso compartido NFS para probar, pero trataría de tener un sistema silencioso y ejecutar fs_usagepara ver si puedo detectar el sistema de archivos haciendo una llamada de escritura, posiblemente presentando un error con Apple. Parece que debería poder leer un DMG de solo lectura, pero tal vez haya alguna razón técnica más profunda por la que está fallando y el sistema operativo necesita un mejor mensaje de error para informarnos por qué ...

¿Qué sistema operativo se ejecuta en el servidor NFS? ¿Cuál es la salida del rpcinfo -pservidor? ¿Cuál es la salida de mounttu Mac? ¿Puede agregar también la línea relevante de /etc/exportsen el servidor NFS a la pregunta?

Configuré un servidor NFS (Ubuntu 12.04) con una exportación de solo lectura que monté en mi Mac (OS X 10.8.2) y no pude reproducir su problema (probé todos los formatos dmg: solo lectura, comprimido, encriptado, etc.) ... ¿Podría agregar el resultado hdiutil -debugy la información que solicité a su pregunta?

Me interesó esta pregunta desde noviembre de 2012 e incluso configuré una máquina virtual FreeNAS para reproducir el problema.

Finalmente me di por vencido, pero dado que la pregunta se ha resucitado , compartiré lo que descubrí en ese momento y en las últimas horas (por suerte no eliminé la VM) y cuál creo que es la causa de este problema. También he encontrado una solución alternativa.

Mi configuración

En primer lugar, esta es mi configuración de prueba:

  • OS X 10.8.2 (lo siento, no hay 10.7.5 alrededor).

  • FreeNAS (FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p1)

    (La versión del OP es FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p7 - No pude encontrar la misma versión).

  • Un sistema de archivos NAS en /mnt/raid:

  • Un usuario llamado netboot:

  • Un sistema de archivos AFP ( /mnt/raid/netboot) exportado como netboot:

AFP funciona, NFS no

Monté el sistema de archivos de solo lectura AFP como usuario netbootusando el Finder con ⌘K:

y monté un archivo de imagen DMG sin ningún problema:

Luego lo desmonté y monté el sistema de archivos NFS de solo lectura (también lo usé ⌘K) y no pude montar el archivo de imagen DMG.

Creo que el problema está registrado aquí:

Error 30 significa (ver man 2 intro):

30 Sistema de archivos EROFS de solo lectura. Se intentó modificar un archivo o directorio en un sistema de archivos que era de solo lectura en ese momento.

No es sorprendente aquí, de hecho es un sistema de archivos de solo lectura, pero ... cuando se monta sobre AFP funciona, ¿por qué?

Debido a que la implementación NFS de Apple tiene algunos problemas con el bloqueo. Como se indica en esta publicación en gluster.org:

OS X hace una cantidad fenomenal de bloqueo de archivos (algunos dirían, innecesariamente) y siempre ha sido muy sensible a la configuración de bloqueo en los servidores NFS. Tanto es así que si elige aleatoriamente un servidor NFS en una gran empresa, el verdadero éxito es bastante improbable.

En mi configuración, el servidor NFS (es decir, la VM FreeNAS) fue repentinamente irresponsable (de mi Mac /var/log/system.log):

La salida de sudo /usr/bin/hdiutil attach -debug /Volumes/netboot/p7zip-9.04-0.i386.dmg -notremovable -shadow /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow -owners on -noverify -noautofsck -nobrowsefue:

Error 5 significa (de nuevo desde man 2 intro):

5 EIO Error de entrada / salida. Se produjo un error físico de entrada o salida. Este error no se informará hasta una operación posterior en el mismo descriptor de archivo y puede perderse (sobrescribirse) por cualquier error posterior.

lo cual no es nada sorprendente, el sistema de archivos NFS había desaparecido.

Solución alterna

Una solución alternativa (probada en OS X 10.8) es montar NFS con opciones nolocks,locallocks. Como se explica en la publicación en gluster.org ya mencionada:

Afortunadamente, hay una solución: simplemente apague el bloqueo de red. Puede hacerlo agregando las opciones "nolocks, locallocks" en el campo de opciones avanzadas de la UI de montaje de Disk Utility NFS, pero esto es doloroso si hace muchas de ellas y no ayuda en absoluto con / net. Puede editar / etc / auto_master para agregar estas opciones a la entrada / net, pero no afecta a otros montajes; sin embargo, recomiendo eliminar la opción hidefromfinder en auto_master. Si desea corregir cada montaje automático, edite /etc/autofs.conf y busque la línea que comienza con AUTOMOUNTD_MNTOPTS =. Estas opciones se aplican en cada montaje. Agregue nolocks, locallocks y su mundo será más rápido y más feliz después de reiniciar.

Lo monté manualmente 172.16.54.186:/mnt/raid/netbooty funcionó a la perfección:

$ sudo rm /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow
$ sudo mount -o nolocks,locallocks,ro 172.16.54.186:/mnt/raid/netboot /tmp/mnt

También edité /etc/auto_masterasí:

se detuvo y comenzó automountdy autofsd:

$ sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.autofsd.plist 
$ sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.autofsd.plist 
$ sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.automountd.plist

y funcionó a las mil maravillas:

$ cd /net/172.16.54.186/mnt/raid/netboot
$ ls

$ sudo rm /private/var/netboot/Library-Shadow

¡Absolutamente, y ahora sé lo que necesito cambiar si lo necesito nuevamente en el futuro! (El objetivo anteriormente era colocar /Librarynuestra imagen de NetBoot en una matriz RAID. Ya no necesitamos esto ya que compramos un nuevo servidor Mac Pro)

hdiutil attach -readonly ...

Para una imagen que está almacenada en un sistema de archivos de solo lectura, considero que -readonlydebe usarse en el momento del archivo adjunto.

(El caso de AFP puede ser excepcional).

Considerando el voto negativo y el comentario de @Josh: no entendí la -shadowparte de la página del manual para hdiutil:

... permite adjuntar imágenes de solo lectura lectura / escritura ...

- Me imaginé que -shadowpodría anular -readonly.

No, no lo entiendes. Quería adjuntar una imagen de solo lectura como un volumen de lectura y escritura con un archivo de sombra.

Con respecto a su edición, no, usar ambos -readonlyy -shadowleería de un archivo sombra pero montaría la imagen de solo lectura. Entonces, por ejemplo, le permitiría leer los cambios realizados en un archivo de sombra sin actualizar ese archivo de sombra. El problema era el bloqueo de NFS como descubrió Jaume.
