Estoy trabajando en una computadora Linux Mint 16 y desde hace poco, cada vez que quiero instalar algo a través de apt-get install, el mensaje de registro dice que los paquetes no se pudieron autenticar. Continúo e intento instalarlos sin autenticación y resulta que la mayoría de los paquetes no se encuentran.
Al final del proceso, el mensaje de la consola me sugiere usar apt-get updateo --fix-missing. Entonces eso es lo que hago: sudo apt-get updatee inmediatamente después de que intento instalar de nuevo sudo apt-get install nginxpero sigo recibiendo el mismo mensaje de error.
¿Cuál es el problema? ¿Me estoy perdiendo de algo?
Nota: Hubiera copiado / pegado los registros, pero están en español, por lo que probablemente no habrían sido de mucha ayuda para la mayoría.

Básicamente, actualizar las listas para usar old-releases.ubuntu.com:
Editar: como dijo Meisam Mulla en los comentarios , si sus URL en los
/etc/apt/sources.listarchivos tienen el prefijo de algo (ca.por ejemplo), deberá eliminar los prefijos manualmente, yaca.old-releases.ubuntu.comque no es una dirección válida.Además, algunos de mis mensajes de error para los Googlers:

Simplemente eliminé manualmente el prefijo de la url y comenzó a funcionar correctamente.Si toma una de las URL que da un error 404 y la coloca en su navegador, verá que también obtiene el error 404. Esto puede ser temporal o un error del servidor, por lo que lo que puede hacer es buscar la estructura del directorio hasta que su URL sea
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/.Allí verá subdirectorios para
lucid(10.04),precise(12.04),saucy(13.10),trusty(14.04) yutopic(14.10). Los números son los números de versión de Ubuntu correspondientes . Otros están al final de su vida útil, ya no son compatibles y no deben usarse. Mint 16 debería ser un derivado de 13.10, por lo que no está claro por qué su sistema intenta obtener algo de 13.04.Puede intentar actualizar las entradas desde
/etc/apt/sources.lsty hacia e intentarlo si eso ayuda, pero puede romper aún más el sistema instalando versiones incompatibles ( haga una copia de seguridad primero )./etc/sources.list.d/*raringsaucyDebería considerar actualizar a Mint 17, o recurrir a una versión anterior compatible como Maya (13)
