Este problema ocurre porque su versión de apt es "demasiado antigua" y no admite paquetes que usan versiones "Proporciona:".

Puede verificar su versión apta con 

apt --version

Las "versiones proporcionadas" se agregaron en apt 1.0.7, pero Ubuntu 14.04 viene con apt 1.0.1.

@fkraiem No recomendé hacer esto. Lo puse como la única forma que tengo de eliminar la advertencia. Deliberadamente dije "compilar" en lugar de "actualizar" y no incluí el sudo make installcomando al final de las instrucciones.

La solución real parece rastrear el paquete ofensivo y pedirle al encargado del PPA que lo arregle.

Dado que el problema ocurrió debido a certbot, abrí el problema 6063 para abordar esto. Este comentario le pidió al responsable del PPA que solucionara el problema.

A partir del lunes 23 de octubre, esto se ha resuelto. Asegúrate de hacerlo

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Para obtener los cambios.
