He configurado un certificado SSL autofirmado en mi servidor para asegurar mi instalación de phpMyAdmin. Acabo de instalarlo desde el origen hasta la última versión (4.2.8) y ahora me gustaría forzar SSL.
En mi /etc/phpMyadmin/config.inc.php, he agregado el $cfg['ForceSSL] = true;
Sin embargo, esta propiedad no obliga a ningún SSL. Todavía puedo acceder al sitio en el puerto 80 y en el puerto 443.
En mi otro servidor, la propiedad forzó SSL con phpMyAdmin y también puedo verlo en la URL ?SID
Lo cual no veo en este servidor.
Básicamente, quiero que phpMyAdmin redirija todas las solicitudes http a https como en mi otro servidor.

No sé por qué phpMyAdmin no está haciendo eso, pero esa debería ser una configuración configurada en el servidor web.
Cuando permite que las conexiones HTTP se redirijan a HTTPS, se abre para los ataques MITM que eliminan la redirección (vea este video en SSLstrip ).
Si tu De Verdad Quiero asegurarnos de que funciona, eche un vistazo a este hilo de StackOverflow Para un problema similar, pero no lo recomendaría. Si pudieras tener el puerto 80 cerrado, aún mejor (aunque imagino que un MITM siempre podría interceptar el SYN y aún así degradar tu conexión a HTTP. Oh, bueno ...)
