¿es grave el error de UNC SMART? necesita tomar medidas?

Tengo un 300G Western Digital Raptor, que recientemente mostró UNC SMART, y me pregunto si alguien con experiencia sabe si debería reemplazarlo y obtener el formulario de garantía WD.

Haz el reemplazo si puedes.

Por otro lado, estos son 'solo' errores de lectura que no son tan malos. Si escribe en ese sector, solo puede estar seguro si tiene defectos.

Ejecutaría la utilidad de los proveedores para verificar (también realizan pruebas inteligentes) si tiene problemas. Por lo general, hacen disponibles los CD de arranque.

Puede y debe ejecutar una autocomprobación que puede hacer desde Linux emitiendo

smartctl -t long /dev/your-device

Espere un par de horas (se mostrará una estimación). Luego verifique nuevamente con

smartctl -a /dev/your-device

Si dice Completed without errorsque estás bien. Si no, vaya a la utilidad del proveedor para verificar la unidad.

Los errores de lectura pueden ser causados ​​por algo tan simple como perder energía durante una operación de escritura. Solo, no sugieren ningún problema de hardware con la unidad.
