Detener desplazamiento del elemento primario (NestedScrollview) al desplazarse Hijo (RecyclerView)

Necesito un comportamiento similar a esta implementación, pero NestedScrollView sería el padre y RecyclerView sería el hijo de NestedScrollView.

No estoy seguro de si se puede lograr. Intenté deshabilitar el padre (NSV) mientras el niño (RV) se desplaza, pero desplazarse en el niño desplaza toda la vista, incluido el padre.

Implementé la solución Marc Knaup y todo funciona correctamente si NestedScrollViewfuera el padre y el resultado se muestra a continuación

@Rockin tienes que darle a android: layout_height = "match_parent" y definitivamente funciona. Estoy usando esto en mi código.
